Motoki Christmas Piano

Motoki's english school had a holiday party.

Motoki performed on the pianica. We were very happy that he practiced hard and wasn't afraid to perform. Even though he made some mistake he kept going.

Of course Santa came and gave presents to all the children.

Motoki and his friend Nodoka helped out with the cooking and babysitting, Keito enjoyed the attention.

Amanda came over to teach us how to cook delicious pies and share the fun.

We cooked a delicious 9 pound turkey.

Halloween

Our friends took Motoki to Universal Studios for a Halloween Festival.

Later in the week Motoki's English school held a halloween party. They all made costumes (Peter Pan) and decorated bags. Then they went trick or treating in the park.

Keito Handprint and Photo

A friend gave us this kit to make a handprint and picture. It came out pretty good.

Neighborhood Festival

It was our first neighborhood festival in our new area.

Motoki was supposed to decorate a lantern for the festival.
So we printed out pictures on shoji (rice paper) which he colored and glued to the lantern.

He's been wearing his new Pink Panther mask everywhere.

At the shrine it was time to change to Hapi coat.

This mobile shrine has lights and plays music. The kids get to take turns beating the drum as the shrine is pulled around the neighborhood.

Motoki was pulling a bit too hard, he got rope burns on his hand.

Since the festival was in the evening it was awesome to return to the shrine to see the lanterns all lit up!

Afterwards we went to the community house where the kids lined up for snacks and played games.

Going Home

Yoko stayed at the clinic for five days. She enjoyed a private room and very caring and attentive nurses to help her take care of Keito and adjust to having a newborn.

It was fun for Motoki to visit and spend time with the baby.

When it was time to go home all of the doctors and staff lined up and said goodbye.

Home!

First bath at home.
